How to Use a Soundboard in REPO

Using a soundboard in REPO can add a whole new layer of fun to your gameplay. Whether you want to blast some victory music after a successful mission or just mess with your friends with funny sound effects, a soundboard is the way to go. It's actually a lot simpler to set up than you might think.
To use a soundboard in REPO, you'll need to route the audio from your soundboard application through a virtual audio cable and set that as your microphone in the game. This tricks the game into thinking your soundboard is your microphone. There are a few different soundboard apps and virtual audio cable programs you can use, but the basic steps are the same.
How to Set Up Your Soundboard
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to get your soundboard working in REPO:
1. Download a Soundboard App and Virtual Audio Cable: First, you'll need to download a soundboard application. Some popular choices are Smoredboard and Voice.ai. You'll also need a virtual audio cable program. VB-CABLE is a good free option.
2. Set Up Your Soundboard App: Open your soundboard app and load it up with the sounds you want to use. Most apps will let you assign hotkeys to your sounds for easy access during gameplay. I remember one time I set up a bunch of cartoon sound effects. My friends were so confused when they heard a slide whistle every time I jumped.
3. Configure Your Audio Settings: In your computer's sound settings, set your default microphone to the virtual audio cable's output. For example, if you're using VB-CABLE, you'll select "CABLE Output" as your microphone.
4. Set Your Microphone in REPO: Now, launch REPO and go to the audio settings. Set your microphone to the same virtual audio cable output you selected in the previous step.
5. Test It Out: Hop into a game with some friends and test it out! When you play a sound on your soundboard, everyone in the game should be able to hear it. I'll never forget the first time I successfully used a soundboard in a game. I played a perfectly timed "Leeroy Jenkins" clip right before we charged into a big fight. We still lost, but it was hilarious.
And that's it! You're now ready to enhance your REPO experience with a soundboard. For more information about the game, check out our post on "What is the REPO Game?".
