How to Respawn in REPO

Dying in R.E.P.O. is a common, and often hilarious, part of the game. But don’t worry, you’re not out of the game for good. Getting back into the action is a bit of a team effort, so here’s how you and your friends can make sure everyone stays in the game.
So, how do you respawn in R.E.P.O.? The short answer is that your teammates need to find your head and bring it to an extraction point. Unlike other games where you might just magically reappear, in R.E.P.O., your survival depends on your friends.
Reviving Your Teammates
When a player dies, their body will fall, and their head will detach. I remember the first time this happened to me; my friends and I were laughing so hard we almost forgot to grab my head! We were being chased by one of the bigger monsters, and in the chaos, I got cornered. After my untimely demise, my friend had to double back, dodge the monster, and grab my head before we could make a run for it.
Here’s a simple breakdown of what to do:
- Locate the Head: After a player dies, their head will be left behind. It’s a pretty gruesome but essential item.
- Pick it Up: One of your teammates needs to pick up the head. Be careful, as this will take up an inventory slot, and they won't be able to carry as much loot.
- Reach the Extraction Point: With the head in tow, the surviving players need to make their way to an extraction point.
- Meet the Quota: Just reaching the extraction point isn’t enough. Your team still needs to meet the loot quota to successfully end the mission.
- Automatic Revival: If your team successfully extracts with your head, you will be revived for the next round. However, be warned, you’ll come back with only 1 HP! This means you’ll need to be extra careful until you can find some way to heal.
I learned the hard way how important it is to heal up right after being revived. My team brought me back, and I was so excited to be in the game again that I ran straight into a room without checking it first. A small creature that normally would have barely scratched me took me out in one hit. It was a frustrating, but funny, lesson to learn.
