What Does Accuracy Do in Raid Shadow Legends?

If you've just started playing Raid: Shadow Legends, you've probably looked at all the different champion stats and felt a little overwhelmed. There's HP, Attack, Defense, Speed, and a bunch of others. One of the most important, but often misunderstood, stats is Accuracy.
So, what does Accuracy do? In short, Accuracy is the stat that helps your champions land their debuffs on enemies. It works directly against the enemy's "Resistance" stat. If your champion's Accuracy is too low, their special skills that apply poisons, stuns, or defense breaks will fail to land, making many battles much harder than they need to be.
Why You Can't Ignore Accuracy
Think of Accuracy and Resistance as a tug-of-war. For a debuff to work, your champion's Accuracy needs to be higher than the enemy's Resistance. If it's not, the enemy will resist the effect, and you'll see the word "Resisted" pop up over their head. This is super frustrating, especially in boss fights where landing a specific debuff is key to winning.
I remember when I first started tackling the Spider's Den dungeon. I had a champion with a great skill to slow down all the little spiderlings, but it almost never worked. I was stuck on a low level for weeks! A clanmate pointed out that my champion had almost no Accuracy. I spent some time farming for better gear with Accuracy substats, and suddenly, the skill started working. It was a total game-changer and I finally progressed.
Here's a quick breakdown of why Accuracy is vital:
- Boss Fights: Many bosses, like the Clan Boss or the Dragon, require you to land debuffs like Decrease Attack or Weaken to survive and deal more damage.
- Arena Battles: In the Arena, controlling the enemy team with stuns, freezes, or provocations is often the key to victory. Without enough Accuracy, your control champions are useless.
- Campaign and Dungeons: Throughout the game, applying debuffs makes your journey smoother and your runs faster.
A good rule of thumb for dungeons is to have about 10 times the dungeon level in Accuracy. So for a level 20 dungeon, you'd want at least 200 Accuracy. My Kael, my starter champion, was pretty good, but I felt he wasn't doing the poison damage everyone talked about. It turns out I had focused only on his attack and critical rate, completely forgetting about Accuracy. Once I equipped an Accuracy banner on him, his poisons started sticking to the Clan Boss, and my damage numbers shot way up.
