Getting the Spectral Steed Whistle

Before you can summon Torrent, you need to get the Spectral Steed Whistle. To do this, you'll need to rest at the Gatefront Ruins Site of Grace. This is one of the first Sites of Grace you'll encounter in the game. I remember when I first started playing, I completely missed this and spent hours running around on foot! Don't make the same mistake I did. Once you rest at the Site of Grace, a cutscene will play and you'll be given the Spectral Steed Whistle.

Summoning Torrent

Once you have the Spectral Steed Whistle, you can summon Torrent at any time, as long as you're not in a dungeon or a boss fight. To summon Torrent, you need to equip the Spectral Steed Whistle in your quick items menu. Then, simply press the use item button to blow the whistle and summon Torrent. I find it really useful to keep the whistle in my first quick item slot so I can summon Torrent quickly when I'm in a hurry.
