How to Reset Stats in Elden Ring

It's a common story in the Lands Between. You start your journey as a mighty warrior, pouring all your points into Strength, only to find a cool spell that you can't use. Don't worry, you don't have to start a new game! Elden Ring lets you reset your stats, and it's easier than you might think.
To reset your stats in Elden Ring, you need to defeat Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, at the Raya Lucaria Academy. After defeating her, she will become a friendly NPC. You can then give her a Larval Tear to access the "Rebirth" menu, which allows you to reallocate all of your spent attribute points.
How to Respec Your Stats
Resetting your stats, also known as "respeccing," is a game-changer. I remember my first playthrough; I had built a pure Strength character but kept finding awesome Faith weapons I couldn't wield. I thought I'd have to wait for a second playthrough until a friend told me about the Rebirth option. It completely changed how I approached the game, letting me experiment with different builds.
Here’s a simple breakdown of what you need to do:
- Defeat Rennala: First, you need to make your way through the Raya Lucaria Academy in Liurnia of the Lakes. At the end of this legacy dungeon, you will fight Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon. She’s a powerful sorcerer, but once you beat her, she becomes a friendly character who offers the Rebirth service.
- Find a Larval Tear: You can’t just ask Rennala to reset your stats for free. You need to give her a rare item called a Larval Tear each time you want to do it. These tears are hidden throughout the world. You can find one east of the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace, dropped by a Lesser Runebear disguised as a normal enemy.
- Choose Rebirth: Once you have a Larval Tear, simply go back to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library and speak to Rennala. Choose the "Rebirth" option, and you'll be taken to the stat allocation screen, just like when you first created your character. All your levels will be returned, and you can spend them again however you like.
I do have one warning, though. Be careful when reallocating your points! During one respec, I was rushing and accidentally confirmed my stats without putting enough points into Vigor. I went into the next boss fight with barely any health and got defeated instantly. I had to use another precious Larval Tear just to fix my mistake. So, take your time and double-check your new build before confirming it.
