Playing Among Us with friends makes the game even more exciting, whether you're working together to complete tasks or trying to trick everyone as the Impostor. It's a game of wits, deception, and teamwork that's best enjoyed with people you know.

I remember the first time I hosted a game for my friends. We spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out how to invite everyone. It turned out my friend was trying to type the code in lowercase, and Among Us only accepts capital letters for the room code! Once we sorted that out, it was smooth sailing.

Tips for Playing Among Us with Friends
Playing with friends opens up new ways to enjoy Among Us. Here are some tips to make your games even better:
- Use Voice Chat: Among Us doesn't have built-in voice chat, but using a third-party app like Discord can make a huge difference. Voice chat allows for much faster and more natural communication during discussions, helping you catch Impostors (or fool your friends!). There are also PC mods like "Crewlink" that add proximity voice chat.
- Customize Game Settings: Don't be afraid to experiment with the host settings. Changing the number of Impostors, player speed, vision, and tasks can drastically change the game and keep things fresh.
- Change Your Name: To make it easier for your friends to spot you in the lobby, or just for fun, you might want to change your in-game name. Learn how to do that by checking out our guide on How to Change My Name in Among Us.
- Create House Rules: With friends, you can agree on fun "house rules." Maybe no one talks during tasks, or you try a round where only Impostors can use vents in front of Crewmates without being reported (just kidding, don't do that!).
- Stick Together (or Not): Decide on strategies before the game. Will you all stick together to complete tasks and watch each other, or split up to cover more ground? The choices are yours and your friends'.
My personal favorite way to play with friends is definitely with voice chat. I remember one game where I was the Impostor, and my friend was swearing up and down that I was innocent. I had just vented right in front of him, but he was so focused on someone else that he convinced the whole lobby I was safe! It was hilarious and made the victory even sweeter.
Playing Among Us with friends is a fantastic way to enjoy the game's social deduction fun. By hosting or joining a private game, you can easily gather your crew and start playing.
