How to Get to Malenia in Elden Ring

Elden Ring is a massive game with secrets hidden around every corner. One of the toughest secrets to uncover is the location of Malenia, Blade of Miquella. If you're struggling to find her, don't worry, you're not alone. I remember spending hours exploring the world, thinking I had seen everything, only to find out I had missed one of the most challenging bosses in the game.
To get to Malenia, you need to find two halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion and use them at the Grand Lift of Rold. This will open up a new area, the Consecrated Snowfield, which leads to Miquella's Haligtree, where Malenia is waiting.
Finding the Haligtree Secret Medallion
First things first, you need to get your hands on the two halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. This is a key item that unlocks the path to the Consecrated Snowfield. Here's how to find them:
- Right Half: You can find the right half of the medallion in the Village of the Albinaurics. It's held by Albus, who is disguised as a pot. You'll need to hit the pot to reveal him and he will give you the medallion.
- Left Half: The left half of the medallion is in Castle Sol. You'll need to defeat Commander Niall to get it. This was a tough fight for me, and I had to try a few times before I finally beat him. I found that using a shield with high stability helped a lot.
Once you have both halves of the medallion, you can head to the Grand Lift of Rold. You'll have the option to hoist the secret medallion, which will take you to the Consecrated Snowfield.
Navigating to Miquella's Haligtree
The Consecrated Snowfield is a large, open area with low visibility. It can be easy to get lost, so it's a good idea to use your map and compass to navigate. You'll need to head to the northern part of the snowfield to find Ordina, Liturgical Town.
Once you get to Ordina, you'll need to solve a puzzle to open the way to Miquella's Haligtree. You'll need to light four fires in the evergaol version of the town. This was another challenging part for me, as there are invisible assassins roaming the town. I found it helpful to use the Sentry's Torch to reveal them.
After you've lit all four fires, the way to Miquella's Haligtree will be open. From there, it's a long and dangerous journey to the bottom of the Haligtree, where Malenia awaits. If you're having trouble with other bosses, you might find our guide on how to get to Rykard in Elden Ring helpful.
