How to Get Pets in Clash of Clans

To get pets in Clash of Clans, you need to first upgrade your Town Hall to level 14. Once you reach Town Hall 14, you can build a new structure called the Pet House, which costs Elixir. Building and then upgrading the Pet House will unlock different pets that can fight alongside your Heroes, giving them special abilities in battle.

Pets are a game-changer in Clash of Clans, adding a whole new layer of strategy to your attacks. They aren't just cute companions; these loyal friends join your Heroes on the battlefield, helping them take down enemy bases with unique skills. Think of them as tiny, powerful allies that can heal your Hero, break through walls, or even turn your Hero invisible.

Unlocking Your First Companion

The journey to getting your first pet begins at a significant milestone: Town Hall 14. This is a big upgrade, and once your Town Hall reaches this level, you'll be able to construct the Pet House in your Home Village. The Pet House is where all your pet-related activities happen - from unlocking new pets to upgrading the ones you have.

Once you build the Pet House, you'll immediately unlock your first pet: L.A.S.S.I. This energetic pup is a ground unit that can leap over walls and target enemies near its Hero.

I remember the first time I hit Town Hall 14. It felt like a massive achievement after months of grinding. Building that Pet House was such an exciting moment, knowing I was finally getting into the "Hero Pets" part of the game. L.A.S.S.I. might not seem like much at first, but having her jump over walls with my Barbarian King definitely saved some attacks when I was still figuring things out!

Growing Your Pet Collection

To unlock more pets, you need to keep upgrading your Pet House. Each time you level up the Pet House, a new Hero Pet becomes available. There are currently 10 different pets, each with its own special ability and strengths. Upgrading the Pet House requires Elixir, and the cost and time increase with each level.

Here's a quick look at some of the pets and what Pet House level unlocks them:

Just like your Heroes, you can upgrade your pets to make them stronger. Pets are upgraded using Dark Elixir, and each upgrade boosts their stats and abilities. The amount of Dark Elixir needed goes up as your pets get more powerful. To upgrade a pet, simply tap on the Pet House, then the Pets icon, choose the pet you want to upgrade, and confirm.

You can only assign one pet to each Hero, so you'll need to unlock a few to pair them with your Barbarian King, Archer Queen, Grand Warden, and Royal Champion. Pets are designed for offense only and won't defend your village when it's under attack.

Maximizing Your Pet Power

Choosing the right pet for the right Hero is crucial for maximizing your attack strategy. For instance, the Unicorn is a fantastic choice for the Archer Queen, especially during a "Queen Charge," because it constantly heals her, helping her stay alive longer under heavy fire. The Electro Owl, with its chain lightning attacks, pairs well with the Grand Warden, extending his reach and helping clear out defenses.

I once tried a new attack strategy with my Royal Champion and paired her with the Spirit Fox. The Fox makes both itself and the Champion invisible for a short time. I remember a nail-biting attack where my Champion was about to go down, but the Spirit Fox cloaked her just in time, allowing her to sneak in and take out a crucial Inferno Tower that would have otherwise ended my raid. It felt like a small win that completely changed the outcome!

As you progress in Clash of Clans, the Pet House becomes one of the most important buildings to upgrade, right alongside your Heroes themselves. To learn more about prioritizing your village's growth, you might find our guide on What to Upgrade First in Clash of Clans? helpful.
