How to Evolve Rhydon in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Rhydon has been a fan favorite since the early days of Pokémon, and its evolution into the mighty Rhyperior is a goal for many trainers in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. If you've been wondering how to get this powerhouse on your team, you're in the right place. The process is straightforward once you know what to do, but it requires a specific item.
So, how do you evolve Rhydon? To evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you need to use a special item called a "Protector" on it. Once you have a Protector, simply select it from your inventory and use it on your Rhydon, and it will evolve instantly.
Where to Find a Protector
Getting your hands on a Protector is the main step in this evolution. Here’s how you can do it:
- Trading Post: The most reliable way to get a Protector is by purchasing it from Simona's Trading Post in Jubilife Village. It will cost you 1,400 Merit Points.
- Merit Points: You earn Merit Points by finding and returning lost satchels from other players who have blacked out in the wild. Keep an eye out for them as you explore the Hisui region.
I remember when I was trying to evolve my Rhydon, I spent a good hour just running around the Crimson Mirelands looking for lost satchels. It felt like a bit of a grind, but finding that last satchel to get enough Merit Points was super satisfying. Finally getting to use the Protector on my Rhydon and seeing it evolve into Rhyperior was a great moment.
Once you have the Protector, the rest is easy. Just open your satchel, select the Protector, and use it on your Rhydon. I was so excited to evolve mine that I did it right there in the middle of Jubilife Village. It was awesome to see my newly evolved Rhyperior standing next to me, ready for our next adventure.
If you're looking to complete your Pokédex, evolving Rhydon is a must. The evolution method is similar to other trade-based evolutions in past games, but in Legends: Arceus, you don't need to trade with another player. This makes it much easier for solo players to complete their collections. If you are struggling with other evolutions, check out our guide on how to evolve Haunter in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
