Helldivers 2 is a squad-based shooter where you team up with other players to fight aliens. But can you play it by yourself? Yes, you absolutely can play Helldivers 2 solo, but the game is primarily designed for cooperative play, so playing alone presents a unique set of challenges and experiences. I’ve dropped into many missions by myself, and while it’s tough, it’s also incredibly rewarding.

When you play Helldivers 2 by yourself, you're in for a real challenge. The game doesn't scale down the difficulty for solo players, so you'll be facing the same number of enemies as a full four-person squad. This means you need to be strategic and pick your battles wisely. I remember one mission where I was completely surrounded by Terminids. I had to use all my stratagems and every last bullet to survive. It was intense, but the feeling of accomplishment after was amazing.

Here are some tips for playing solo:

• Choose the right difficulty: Don't jump into the hardest difficulty right away. Start on a lower difficulty and work your way up as you get more comfortable.
• Pick the right loadout: Your gear is crucial when you're playing solo. Make sure you have a good mix of offensive and defensive stratagems. The "Guard Dog" rover is a great choice for solo players as it helps watch your back.
• Be stealthy: You don't have to fight every enemy you see. Sometimes, it's better to sneak past patrols and focus on the objective.
• Complete objectives quickly: The longer you stay in a mission, the more enemies will spawn. Try to complete your objectives as quickly as possible and get out of there.
• Know when to retreat: There's no shame in running away. If you're overwhelmed, it's better to retreat and try again than to lose all your lives.

One of my favorite things about playing solo is the freedom it gives me. I can play at my own pace and complete missions however I want.
