Is Helldivers 2 Fun Solo?

Helldivers 2 is a squad-based game, but you can still have a lot of fun playing it solo. It’s a different kind of experience, for sure. It’s more intense and you have to be more careful. But it’s also really rewarding when you pull off a tough mission all by yourself.
So, is Helldivers 2 fun to play solo? The short answer is yes, absolutely! It’s a blast, but it’s a different kind of blast than when you’re playing with friends. When you’re on your own, the game becomes more of a stealth and strategy experience. You have to think about your every move, because there’s no one there to back you up if you mess up.
I remember one time I was trying to take out a bug nest on my own. I spent a good 10 minutes scouting out the area, planning my attack. I used a combination of smoke grenades and sniper fire to take out the bugs one by one. It was a slow and methodical process, but it was so satisfying when I finally cleared the nest.
Tips for Playing Helldivers 2 Solo
If you're going to play Helldivers 2 solo, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, you need to be patient. You can't just run in guns blazing like you might with a squad. You need to take your time, pick your battles, and use the element of surprise to your advantage.
Here are a few other tips for playing solo:
- Stealth is your friend: When you're playing solo, you're a lot more vulnerable. Use cover, crouch-walk, and try to avoid unnecessary fights. I learned this the hard way after being swarmed by a horde of angry robots. It wasn't pretty.
- Choose your gear wisely: The right gear can make all the difference when you're playing solo. I'm a big fan of the sniper rifle and the deployable shield. The sniper lets you take out enemies from a distance, and the shield gives you some much-needed protection. For more on gear, check out our post on how to customize weapons in Helldivers 2.
- Don't be afraid to run: Sometimes, the best strategy is to just get out of there. If you're overwhelmed, don't try to be a hero. Just run away and live to fight another day.
- Complete objectives: Even if you're not killing every enemy on the map, focus on completing the main objectives. This will still earn you experience and help you progress in the game.
Is it Worth It?
Playing Helldivers 2 solo is a different experience than playing with a squad, but it's still a lot of fun. It's a more challenging and rewarding experience, and it really forces you to think strategically. If you're a fan of stealth games and you're up for a challenge, then I would definitely recommend giving Helldivers 2 a try solo. For more on the game, see our post on when Helldivers 2 was released.
