What Pokemon Are Shiny Locked in Legends Arceus?

Shiny hunting is a popular pastime for many Pokémon trainers, and I'm no exception. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of finally encountering that different-colored Pokémon you’ve been searching for. However, in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, some Pokémon are "shiny locked," meaning you can't find their shiny versions in the game, no matter how hard you try.
So, which Pokémon are shiny locked in Pokémon Legends: Arceus? The short answer is that the starter Pokémon you get from Professor Laventon and all of the legendary Pokémon are shiny locked. This means you won't be able to find shiny versions of Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott when you first start the game. But don't worry, you can still find shiny versions of these Pokémon in the wild later on!
Shiny Locked Pokémon in Legends: Arceus
It can be a real bummer to find out that a Pokémon you were hoping to shiny hunt is shiny locked. I remember spending hours trying to get a shiny Cyndaquil at the beginning of the game, only to find out later that it was impossible! To save you from the same fate, here's a complete list of all the shiny-locked Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus:
- Starter Pokémon: The Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott that you receive from Professor Laventon at the start of the game are shiny locked. However, you can still find and catch shiny versions of these Pokémon in the wild during space-time distortions.
- Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf: These three legendary Pokémon, also known as the Lake Guardians, are shiny locked.
- Dialga and Palkia: The main legendary Pokémon of the game, Dialga and Palkia, are both shiny locked. This includes their Origin Formes as well.
- Heatran, Regigigas, and Cresselia: These legendary Pokémon are also shiny locked.
- Tornadus, Thundurus, Enamorus and Landorus: The Forces of Nature are all shiny locked.
- Giratina: The legendary ghost/dragon Pokémon Giratina is shiny locked in both its Altered and Origin Formes.
- Arceus: The creator of the Pokémon universe itself, Arceus, is also shiny locked.
It's a bit of a letdown that so many legendary Pokémon are shiny-locked in this game. I was really hoping to hunt for a shiny Giratina, as it's one of my favorite legendary Pokémon. But on the bright side, this gives me more time to hunt for other shiny Pokémon in the Hisui region!
