How to Get Furina in Genshin Impact

Getting Furina in Genshin Impact comes down to one main thing: wishing on her special character banner when it's available. She is a limited 5-star character, which means you can only get her during specific periods when developer HoYoverse features her in the game's gacha (or "Wish") system.
Genshin Impact uses a "Wish" system to let you get new characters and weapons. Think of it like a lottery where you spend a special in-game currency called "Fates" for a chance to get what you want. Furina, being a 5-star character, is one of the rarest pulls.
Understanding Genshin Impact's Wish System
To get Furina, you'll need to use "Intertwined Fates" on her limited-time "Character Event Wish" banner. Each "Wish" costs 160 Primogems, which you convert into Intertwined Fates.
Here’s how it generally works:
- Primogems: These are the main currency you earn in the game. You get them by completing quests, exploring the world, opening chests, finishing events, and doing daily commissions. You can also buy them with real money.
- Fates: There are two types: Acquaint Fates (for the standard banner) and Intertwined Fates (for limited character and weapon banners). You need Intertwined Fates for Furina.
- Banners: These are temporary events that feature specific characters or weapons with boosted chances. Furina will only be available on her own "Character Event Wish" banner.
The Pity System
Luckily, the Genshin Impact Wish system has a "pity" mechanic to guarantee you eventually get a rare item:
- 4-star Pity: You're guaranteed to get at least one 4-star character or weapon every 10 Wishes.
- 5-star Pity (Hard Pity): You're guaranteed a 5-star character every 90 Wishes on a character event banner.
- Soft Pity: Your chances of getting a 5-star character actually start to go up a lot before the 90th Wish, usually around 74 Wishes.
- The 50/50: When you get a 5-star character on a limited banner, there's a 50% chance it will be the featured character (like Furina). If you get a different 5-star character (you "lose the 50/50"), the next 5-star character you pull on a limited banner is guaranteed to be the featured one. This means that at most, you'd need 180 Wishes to get Furina if you lose the 50/50 first.
I remember saving up for ages to get a specific character. I got to 75 pity, and on the next pull, I got a standard banner 5-star! I was so bummed to lose the 50/50, but it meant my next 5-star was guaranteed. I ended up grinding every Primogem I could find and got the character within another 30 pulls. It felt like a rollercoaster of emotions.
When Can You Get Furina?
Since Furina is a limited 5-star character, she isn't always available. You have to wait for her "Character Event Wish" banner to be active. Her initial banner, "Song of Waters," ended on November 28, 2023. However, characters often have "reruns," meaning their banners come back later. The latest information indicates Furina is expected to have a rerun in the Version 6.1 update, likely during the first phase. You'll want to keep an eye on official Genshin Impact announcements for exact dates.
Many players also enjoy doing "pull rituals" where they go to specific spots in the game they think are lucky before wishing. While the game doesn't officially support these, it can be a fun way to feel more connected to your pulls. My personal favorite ritual is always pulling near the statue of the Seven in Fontaine, especially for Hydro characters. I even got an early Furina on my friend's account doing that once! It's probably just luck, but it makes the wishing experience more exciting.

Making in-app purchases for Primogems in Genshin Impact can help you get the characters you want faster. You can earn Apple or Google Play gift cards by playing free games on Playstorm and then redeem them to buy Genesis Crystals, which convert to Primogems.
