Lumine and her twin were trying to leave Teyvat during this event but were stopped and separated by an unknown god.

After this separation, the playable Traveler (Lumine, in this case) was put into a deep sleep or stasis for roughly 500 years. Her twin, however, woke up much earlier and became involved in Teyvat's history during that time. Even after waking up, neither twin has physically aged, suggesting they are immune to the normal passage of time. The true depth of Lumine's age goes even further back than 500 years. Lore descriptions, like those found on the "Wings of Descension" glider, mention that the Traveler has "seen the birth and death of stars" across their journeys. Even a fortune teller in Sumeru was shocked to see that the Traveler is set to live for tens of thousands more years, implying a current age of around 5,000 years, at least.

I remember my friends and I having long discussions about this "birth and death of stars" line. We'd try to figure out what it truly meant. Did she literally watch stars form and die out? That's such a massive scale of time it almost doesn't make sense for a character who looks like she could be in high school! It just makes her story so much more interesting.

So, while Lumine might look like a teenager, her actual age is a mystery rooted in ancient history and interdimensional travel. She is an ancient being with a vast past, making her journey through Teyvat even more compelling.
